How to Remove the W32/AHKHeap Virus

The W32/AHKHeap virus is a piece of malicious software that spreads by the sharing of an infected file. When a computer has been infected with this virus, the virus will make entries in the registry and will attempt to infect any removable devices that are added to the computer while the virus is running. The virus will also block access to a number of web sites, displaying an information message that says the site "is banned you fool,The administrators didn't write this program guess who did?? MUHAHAHA!!"

  1. Step 1

Obtain the AVG anti-virus program and install it on your computer (see Resources).

  2. Step 2

Let the AVG program scan your computer. This will happen normally as the last step of the installation process. Allow this scan to complete, as it will find all parts of the W32/AHKHeap virus. This virus hides in files and in the registry, but the AVG program will find it in both places.

  3. Step 3

Watch the screen as the AVG scan completes. When the program finds the W32/AHKHeap virus, the AVG program will make a noise to indicate that W32/AHKHeap has been found, and it will show the location of the virus files.

  4. Step 4

Select the "Remove all Unhealed Infections" button. The W32/AHKHeap virus cannot be repaired or "healed," as the virus does not affect individual files. Therefore, the virus has to be removed, which selecting this button will do.

  5. Step 5

Allow the AVG software to continue running, as it will detect if you insert any other removable devices that have been infected.
